There are a few things I would change about the process and the final product. One thing is that I would plan it better and allow myself more time to shoot the clips so we could have better shots that wouldn't look as rushed. Also, the opening shot in the original is directly above the singer but it was impossible for us to get that type of shot with the equipment we had so I would figure out a way to get this shot if I were to do it again.
The most challenging aspect of this project was finding a song/video that would both look good and be relatively easy to make considering the short time frame and minimal equipment we had. Initially, we decided to remake the video for "If You Wanna" by The Vaccines. Filming the sequence we selected was pretty difficult due to the numerous and rapid changes in lighting as I had to keep changing lenses and altering the camera settings due to the different angles and lighting. It was a very tedious process and eventually we ran out of time in the theatre which was a huge problem because we only had 13 seconds of footage even though we were in the theatre for an hour. It took two weeks to get to this point and we had only one week to select a different video and remake that.
For my A2 project, I will ensure that I have a detailed plan to follow whether it be for a short film or music video. This project made me realise that detailed planning is paramount when creating a video product.
I feel this was a useful project for me to do because it taught me some valuable lessons that I have taken on on board and will use in the creation of my A2 Media product.
